As a Black birthing person, or someone who cares for one, you are the reason we do this work.
In maternity care, the stakes are high, and the noise is loud.
Communication gaps can have serious consequences, and misinformation is rampant. Too often, people are left to sort through conflicting advice without clear, trusted guidance.
Knowledge is power.
When you understand what quality care looks like, know your rights as a patient, and can identify reliable resources, you can make informed decisions and show up to care conversations with confidence.
We curate evidence-informed, culturally grounded resources to help Black birthing people and those caring for them navigate pregnancy and postpartum, ask better questions, recognize when something feels off, and take action early.
Who we are
Safer Births Now is a public education initiative produced by Birthing the Magic Collaborative, in partnership with aligned organizations committed to safer, more respectful maternity care. This event offers free virtual workshops and practical resources for pregnant and postpartum families, as well as for the clinicians, doulas, and community advocates who support them.
These workshops provide practical knowledge and tools to help you make informed decisions and take an active role throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early parenting.
